Rodney E. Hurlbut

Vice President of Marketing

Rodney Hurlbut is a successful entrepreneur and business strategist who brings more than 30 years of finance and operations experience to his service to Management Administrative Solutions and its clients. Over his career, he has worked with scores of entrepreneurs and companies to assess the competitive landscape and optimize operations to help owners generate measurable results to their bottom line.

As a successful entrepreneur, he offers a unique perspective to the challenges and opportunities of operating growing businesses. In 2008 Mr. Hurlbut was one of the first marijuana license holders in the State of Colorado and has experienced the full spectrum of hurdles related to starting and scaling a business of this nature. As an owner of several successful dispensaries and grows along the Front Range, he navigated the early days of an all cash business and managed the daily complexities of operating an exploding business in a new, emerging industry that included numerous regulatory uncertainties. He not only survived, but with his insights and leadership his businesses thrived.

In 2019 he sold and merged his operation with another Colorado cannabis business to pursue new opportunities, thus his affiliation with Management Administrative Solutions, a preferred vendor of Safe Harbor, the pre-eminent financial partner of so many cannabis businesses in Colorado. His new focus is to help owners and operators address the many challenges in the cannabis business through his industry knowledge and the personalized PEO services offered by Management Administrative Solutions. Based on his hands-on experience, he has reviewed all the advantages associated with PEOs and has assembled a package of services that he knows firsthand will save time, minimize resource demands, streamline compliance and HR processes, and improve profitability.

In addition to his experience in the cannabis business, Mr. Hurlbut has an extensive background in Accounting, Management, Insurance, and Real Estate Development. He holds a B.S. degree from Kansas State University in Accounting and Finance and is married with two adult daughters. As a resident of Colorado for almost 40 years he enjoys everything the State has to offer including fishing, camping, traveling, and hanging out with the family dogs.
